HTC Incredible s review
the HTC announced their new line up at the mwc 2011 , . I ve
had the nexus s for approx 2 months , however glitchy software and general day to day us
making the phone a pain to use , I was forced to look for another phone and turned to the
HTC Incredible s .
I ve had the HTC Incredible s for a few days and my first proper day of usage was yesterday .
yesterday . Here s my initial thoughts and impressions :
specs
According to HTC , the Incredible s is supposed to sit somewhere between the HTC Desire HD and the yet to be released Desire s.
1ghz scorpion processor , Adreno 205 GPU
1.1 GB Internal storage, 768 mg RAM
4" s-LCD screen
Android 2.2.1 with sense UI v3.0
8 megapixel camera with 720p HD recording
1.3 megapixel front facing camera
1450 mAh Battery
There s more specs to list , but above is the general meat and bones of the device.
Build Quality
The phone is gorgeous to look at . It s basically drapped in a matt black finish and has an
industrialized look rubber back. There s a speaker at the top of the phone which is encased in a black metal grill , and an LED notification light to the grill , that looks good when it shines through it.
on top of the phone to the left is a 3.5 mm head phone jack, the power switch is to the right ,which is coloured black .
to the left side of the phone is a volume rocker , at the bottom left of the phone is the micro USB port.
there s nothing on the right of the phone .
It s great to have a LED notification light, which i sorely missed when using the Nexus 5.
mics are installed on the phone as per the Nexus one , call quality is very clear and I have had no complaints from other people on the other end of the call.
Antenna wise the Incredible s seems to hold the signal well , I have had no issues there. one
problem I had with the Nexus 5, was that the wi fi antenna was very weak , even when standing near a router , it wouldn t pick up full signal strength, this is not an issue with the Incredible 5 thankfully .
GPS also works very well and shows your position to the nearest meter , unlike the Nexus 5.
which showed your position to 5 meter, this i believe has changed with the 2.3.3 update. but i haven't chance to check it out.
